Yes. A tuning fork (vibrating fork) level switch can detect both liquids and bulk solids, but different fork designs are optimized for each type of medium.
For Liquids
Liquid-type tuning forks are usually compact with short prongs. They work well for water, oils, solvents, and most clean or slightly viscous liquids.
Best for: tank high/low level alarm, pump protection.
For Solids (powders, granules)
Solid-version tuning forks have stronger, longer and thicker prongs. They are made to handle grain, plastic pellets, flour, cement powder, sand and other bulk materials.
Best for: silo, hopper point level detection.
Important Limitations
One single unit is normally not interchangeable for heavy solids and liquids freely. A liquid fork may break or false-trigger if used for heavy powder.
Not suitable for extremely sticky media that cakes on the fork and stops vibration.
It only gives on/off point signal, not continuous level measurement.
